Samad began his career with India Tourism Mumbai in 1984 and has held various roles in the Ministry of Tourism across New Delhi, Aurangabad, Hyderabad, and Singapore. He was the first Director of the India Tourism office in Beijing, overseeing tourism promotion in China, Hong Kong, and Macau. Prior to his current role, he served as Regional Director for the southern region. He also received the Swachh Bharat Award for maintaining the Best Regional Office of India Tourism in Chennai.
